There is a waterpark in Costa Teguise which is is open daily from 10.00hrs - 18.00hrs. A Great family day out. (a taxi to the water park costs around 4 euros). It also has the only golf course on the island which has 18 holes, clubs and trollies are available to hire from the course and is next door to the water park. The nightlife in Costa Teguise caters for all ages with it's mix of both vibrant and relaxing bars. Many of these have terraces which benefit from excellent panoramic views of the splendid shore line.
Costa Teguise is close to a wealth of interesting locations and fabulous, un-spoilt beaches. A ten minute drive from the resort takes you to Teguise, the magnificent, ancient, former capital of the island. This lovely, tranquil town with it’s narrow, winding, cobbled streets and fabulous architecture, comes to life every Sunday when it hosts the largest market on the island. The route north of Costa Teguise takes you the delightful, traditional, fishing villages of Arrieta and Punta de Mujeres, with sea front fish restaurants.
Renowned for its excellent surf, Costa Teguise is a popular resort for windsurfing, the perfect place to learn or take your wave riding to the next level! Playa Las Cucharas hosts the PWA Annual Windsurfing Championships in May / June each year. Scuba diving is also a very popular sport within the numerous caves, tunnels, sheer walls and ship wrecks that surround Lanzarote's shores. Sporting and cultural events in Costa Teguise have multiplied during the last years. Cucharas beach is most appreciated by windsurf lovers while Bastian Beach is ideal for families with small children since it is easily accessible and protected from the winds. Though smaller than the others, the fine white sandy beach of Jablillo is also of note. If you are in Costa Teguise, you should visit the Pueblo Marinero which is a cluster of typical Canary buildings as conceived by the artist, Cesar Manrique. Restaurants, pubs and shops, as well as a market held every Friday. |
